Services for Students

Through Aware & Mindful Youth, I help students improve their confidence in school and relationships by working with them on executive functioning and social emotional skills.

Often younger children need more support with their Emotional Intelligence than their Executive Functioning (3 - 6 years). However, as children progress to higher levels of school (6+), assignments can become more complicated. Executive skills become necessary to get things done; such as attention, organization, prioritization, time management, task initiation, and goal achievement.

Sessions integrate a combination of both to support the whole child, leading to increased self-esteem, and productivity. They’re conducted in the students’ home to create rapport and support the family environment. Virtual options are available for students 12 and older. Collaboration with allied professionals for both in person and virtual sessions occurs throughout the coaching process for a holistic approach to learning and overall well-being.

Eventually, the child will feel independent enough to transition away from coaching, while celebrating their achievements. Each student will reach this phase at their own pace based on their unique needs and challenges.

Services for Parents

Sometimes, students don’t believe they need help, or understand the impact their challenges have on homelife and the family unit. In these cases, parent coaching can be incredibly valuable, since parents are ultimately who provide the most guidance for their child. Sessions include troubleshooting challenging behaviors, and how to support students academically without adding tension to the relationship between parent and child.
